Neck Lift

Neck lift surgery in Montreal

A neck lift is a surgical procedure designed to focus on the signs of agingspecifically on the delicate area of the neck, chin and jaw area. The neckskin is susceptible to showing these signs; patients feeling bothered bythese concerns can benefit from a neck lift, sometimes performed inconjunction with a facelift.

Who can get a neck lift?

Are you a candidate for neck lift surgery?

While a neck lift will address the signs of aging in the neck, this procedure is not only reserved for older patients. Who can benefit from a neck lift?

  • Older patients with advanced signs of aging in the neck. Your plastic surgeon may suggest a facelift with the neck lift for a full facial revitalization
  • Any aged patient with excess fat and skin on the neck. These patients will benefit from liposuction in conjunction with the neck lift.
  • Any aged patient who has lost significant weight and has been left with excess loose skin on the neck. Weight loss patients are often left with loose skin that can only be removed with surgery.

Your plastic surgeon will give you an honest assessment and let you know if you are a good candidate for a neck lift, but in general you should be in good overall health with no medical conditions that can impair healing, must be a nonsmoker or willing to quit smoking, and have realistic expectations.

What can a neck lift be combined with?

How to maximize your neck lift results

A neck lift is an effective way to restore youthfulness to the neck area, but there are numerous procedures that can be combined with a neck lift to maximize your results.

Some procedures that are commonly performed with a neck lift:

  • Face lift
  • Brow lift
  • Fat transfer (fat grafting)
  • Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
  • Liposuction

Your plastic surgeon will provide tailor-made recommendations to you depending on the extent of the signs of aging, age, lifestyle and desired results.

Possible risks

Know the risks of neck lift surgery

Like any other surgery, there are of course risks associated with choosing to have a neck lift, such as risks associated with anesthesia, bleeding, infection, poor wound healing, fluid accumulation (hematoma), changes in skin sensation and pain. Being aware of the possible risks will help you to make an informed decision to have your surgery. Your plastic surgeon will discuss all risks in detail with you during your consultation and before surgery.

Additional neck lift risks can include:

  • Asymmetry
  • Nerve injury
  • Sutures becoming visible through the skin, requiring removal
  • Hair loss along incision sites (temporary or permanent)
  • Revision surgery if results are unsatisfactory

A great surgeon who listens. You quickly gain confidence in his frankness and expertise. The results obtained are beyond my expectations and I am definitely grateful. A crush for Dr. Arash, for Nashrine, for Marie-Ève and Noémie the nurses who accompanied my process and for the nice ladies at the reception.

Very good surgeon. I had a mommy makeover (abdominoplasty and breast lift with implant) by Dr. Arash and I am very satisfied. He's a magician. I can't stop staring at my chest.
