Lower Body Lift
360 Body Lift Surgery
What is a lower body lift?
A lower body lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the lower body. The procedure is designed to address the abdomen and lower back, thighs and buttocks to restore contour, curves and skin tightness caused by significant weight loss, aging, or pregnancy. A lower body lift should be performed in conjunction with liposuction if the patient has excess fat as well as excess skin to maximize end results.
Lower Body Lift Procedure
Circumferential body lift surgery
A lower body lift is an extensive plastic surgery procedure using incisions that extend along a 360 degree circumference of the lower body, horizontally around the lower back and lower abdomen.
The procedure and incision placement are personalized to each patient to ensure the best scar placement that can be hidden as easily as possible.
A lower body lift is typically a combination of an extended tummy tuck, outer thigh lift, and liposuction to sculpt the body and enhance the silhouette.

Who is a lower body lift candidate?
Is a body lift for you?
Your plastic surgeon will give you an honest assessment and let you know if you are a good candidate for a lower body lift, but in general you should be in good overall health with no medical conditions that can impair healing, must be a nonsmoker or willing to quit smoking, and have realistic expectations.
Candidates will also have significant loose skin and tissue in multiple areas of the lower body (stomach, back, buttocks, thighs) and be at a healthy maintained weight.
Possible risks
Know the risks of lower body lift surgery?
Like any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with body lift surgery. These can include bleeding, scarring, infection, fluid accumulation (seroma) change in skin sensation, poor wound healing, revision surgery or persistent pain.
Risks associated with a lower body lift can also include asymmetry to the body, recurrent loose skin, persistent swelling in the legs.
What to expect for lower body lift recovery
It is our goal at Station L to ensure that your entire experience from the initial consultation to your recovery is as positive and comfortable as possible. Your plastic surgeon and surgical coordinator will go over your post-operative instructions and recovery with you as it is essential for your lower body lift recovery and results that you follow care guidelines closely.
You will need to wear compression garments to help with swelling and to compress the skin to help the body adapt, fluid retention and assist the healing process.
First 24 hours: Have someone in place to pick you up from your surgery and care for you at home
Compression garments: 4-6 weeks
Back to work: 2-3 weeks
Exercise: Light exercise 4 weeks (light cardio-walking/treadmill), full activities after 6 weeks
Final results: swelling resolves by 3-6 months
